THEATRON

THEATRON is an award-winning online teaching application that has been produced by a European consortium of leading academic institutions, architectural and information technology specialists. THEATRON was partly funded by the European Commission.

The 3d Visualisation team developed real-time walkthroughs of highly accurate 3D models of past and present theatres, and created a wide variety of related multimedia assets and texts which are accessed through the model and information panels. These include photographs, computer animations and 360-degree panoramas. Some of the theatre sites also have audio reconstructions, enabling the user to hear what the audience would have heard from different parts of the theatre.
