AHRC ITC Methods Network Author Guidelines

Submission of a paper for publication by the Methods Network will be taken to imply that it represents original work not previously published, that it is not being considered elsewhere for publication, and that if accepted for publication it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in any language, without the consent of the Methods Network.

A complete typescript should be submitted no later than three months after the event. The typescript along with full contact details, your abstract and a c.100 word biography should be submitted in both hard copy and electronic format (Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format (RTF)). The text should not exceed 5000 words.

Please email the electronic copy of your typescript to hazel.gardiner@kcl.ac.uk and send the hard copy to Hazel Gardiner, Senior Project Officer, AHRC ICT Methods Network, Centre for Computing in the Humanities, Kings College, Kay House, 7 Arundel Street, London, WC2R 3DX, tel: 020 7848 2013.

House Style

The Methods Network uses the Oxford Style. These rules are set out in The Oxford Guide to Style (OUP: 2002) and The Oxford Dictionary for Writers and Editors, 2nd edn. (OUP: 2000).

The Harvard System may be used within the body of the text. Footnotes and bibliography (if included) should be in the Oxford Style.

Illustrations, Figures, Tables and Graphs

All artwork for figures, tables and graphs must be submitted either in clean, camera-ready form or high resolution TIFF files.

Permissions

Where necessary, authors should clear copyright on material in their article, including such matters as obtaining written permission for quotations, and for the reprinting of illustrations or tables from unpublished or copyrighted material. If required the Methods Network will provide assistance with this but cannot become involved in negotiating rights. Please ensure that you advise the Methods Network if written permission is required for the use of any illustration which remains in copyright. Please supply details of any acknowledgement that may need to be made. Please do try to use non-copyrighted material wherever possible.

Please contact the AHRC ICT Methods Network if you require further information about any of the above.
